I did it! This is my second attempt and 100% of that sucker came out of the pan! Hooray! It is a Williams Sonoma Almond Bundt Cake. Actually, I'm sure I just paid big bucks for a box of sugar and flour - but it DID come out of the pan.
Now - tomorrow at lunch we find out if it's edible! Cross your fingers, please. And. Coach, things are looking up!

Auntie Susan,
That looks yummy!! Jackson wants to know if you will bake one for him! Please share your secrets of success and how you made it come out so pretty!
Dear Baby Jack,

I'm too html tag challenged to make this a working link!
Oh my! Look at that! I DID get the mixer in the picture...
That lime cake looks terrific. Thanks!
Just a suggestion when making a pound cake (from my grandmother about 40 years ago)...always FOLD in the well beaten egg whites slowly. If you have tried this then I am at a loss for now. I'll share a 'hunk' of my cake if you will do the same:) From one KA user to another! See you in class next week. chefdeb aka debs
Dear ChefDeb,
Grand idea, and I really love ideas from Grandmas (I believe them all), but we need to talk. None of my recipes call for eggwhites - folded, stapled, or otherwise. Please send recipe! Thank you,
Chef Wannabe,
Susan
A grandpa suggestion - never open the oven door when you bake a pound cake... a grandma suggested no WALKING in the kitchen while the pound cake is in the oven.
I LOVE those. I'll try it!
Greetings Chef Wannabe,
Mamaw's Pound Cake is printed and ready for your hot little hands on Tuesday evening. She too said for me to walk softly on the kitchen floor, however, her floor would shake to some degree when we walked on it. In bold letters you will find "DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR". Keep in mind that this is a recipe that is quite old. I too have tired a Bundt Pan and it just doesn't work well. I have my Mother-in-law's old, old cheap tube pan that I grease with butter flavored Crisco and instead of coating with flour I use powdered sugar just in case any of it sticks to the cake it will be sweet and thin. This cake has never failed me but it does take some time to prepare. It also freezes well so since Ron and I are finally childless I put at least half of it, presliced, in freezer bags for an easily warmed desser that is popped into the microwave with a tad of butter for a slightly warm and quick dessert. Get ready to bake on Wednesday! I'll send you the ingredients ahead of time if you like. Thanks for the sense of humor in your Blogs. You make me want to read them more and more.
Oh, goodie! Can't wait!
