One Month From Today

OK - I need to tie my feet to the floor.....ONE MONTH FROM TODAY is it! This cartoon sort of goes along with it...I retire and gas costs more than I make - crazy! I guess I will get lots of gardening, bird-watching, reading, and photography done! Also, I'm mostly looking forward to lots of time with family and friends. Tea, anyone?

Sunday Afternoon with the Birds and Bird Babies

This is a busy time of year in my yard. The baby birds are fledging and learning how to eat at my feeders. It's a full time job supervising all that! And Father Bluebird has decided it is time to help!

The Indigos Are Back!

What a splendid surprise today when I saw my first indigo bunting of the year! I dashed off to get the camera and started snapping. As I was looking through the view finder, another flew up - then the third. I could hardly stand it! What a great day! (Click on the picture to see a larger version.)

The Tree

I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. . His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children.. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again." "Funny thing is," he smiled," when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

God Bless!

We all need a Tree!
Life Isn't about waiting for
The storm to pass,
It's about learning to dance
In the rain

The Easter Bunny

He weighs in at 17 pounds and measures a little over17 inches high on all fours .. he is a breed of rabbit called German giant (how appropriate!). This is his owner, Hans Wagner, struggling to hold him up. from the NY Post article: We don't feed him an unusual diet said Wagner. He goes through more than his brothers and sisters, but he eats the same food mix. His favorite food is actually lettuce. He can never get enough of it. LOOK AT THOSE FEET!

April Fools????? Snopes says it's true......Love it myself - much better than politics and that other stuff I was meandering into!
