It REALLY Is a Small World After All!

As you probably know, I maintain the Wild Bird Center Peachtree City Blog. I added a Feedjit Widget to the page to keep up with traffic. Unbelieveable! Here is a link to the map showing the hits we have gotten in the few weeks we have been running. We have had traffic from Prince George, British Columbia to Buenos Aires and from London to New Zealand and points in between.

It thrills me to know that our planet is getting smaller and smaller and that we can communicate with everyone so very easily! Maybe if we knew each other better, we would care more, and take better care of each other. (And that means ALL of us!)

Happy Solstice

LOVE the long days; but the truth is that we are one step closer now to the cold weather that I really love.

Happy Solstice!

A First For Photo Class

You know, you reach a certain age and less and less really surprises you. And while there aren't as many, you do still get an occasional first. In my current beginning photography class, one of my participants dutifully made her brand new blog and used it to announce to her husband that they are expecting a baby in February! Way to go - and congratulations, Cindy (and hubby)!

Courthouse Photo Contest

Today we took pictures of the courthouse in Newnan. Please check each blog for our favorites and comment if you please.

New Book

I'm thinking of writing a book entitled Bird Butts and I think I may have gotten my cover shot today!
No, really - If you have never tried to get a photo of a towhee, you really can't appreciate what a great shot this really is. They are constantly moving - so this is the absolute best towhee picture I have ever taken. If you've managed to get this great of a shot of a towhee from another angle, my hat is off to you!

Change of Pace

We went to Turnipseed Gardens in search of a raspberry in cream day lily. Of course we didn't find that flower but we did get to visit some cool chickens and a guinea hen.
I love to hear a rooster crowing. I wonder how much my neighbors would like that?

Photographs Wanted

I have just put together a new blog for the Wild Bird Center. http://wbcptc.blogspot.com/ If you have great bird or critter pictures, I will be happy to post them for other back yard enthusiasts to enjoy!

Am I Enjoying This Too Much?

Albert on his new baffle over the nut feeder. He had five helpers out this morning but this evening it is just him. I hope the others didn't starve today...

Albert pleading to have his baffle taken down. Somehow, I'm feeling less sub-rodent-esque today.

How about this cute little guy?

I spoze he's somebody's baby - but I don't know whose. Any ideas? Click on him for a closer look...

Today in the Garden

SO today I took my chair out in the garden among the bird feeders. The little birds took no notice and enjoyed my company.

Albert, however, hated it and stayed far away. He was also mad that I put a baffle over the nut feeder. PhD 2 /Rodent 22

Albert

I finally captured a shot of Albert without a bird feeder in his mouth. Adorable, don't you think?
What you don't see in this photo is his set of broken and chipped teeth from incessant gnawing on steel feeders.
Maybe I can catch a big toothy grin for you one day.
You must admit - he is rather cute! Click on him for a larger image.
